Most delays in a freelance visa application come from missing or incorrect documents. Use this checklist before you apply.
For the freelance permit
Passport copy with sufficient validity; a passport photo on a white background; your current visa or entry stamp; a CV or portfolio matching your activity; educational certificates where required; and a no-objection letter if your current sponsor requires one.
For the residence visa
After the permit, you will complete an entry permit or change of status, a medical fitness test and Emirates ID biometrics. Bring your original passport to appointments.
Check before you submit
Make sure names are spelled the same on every document, that photos meet the specification, and that your previous visa cancellation is planned to avoid fines.
